“Six seconds created an entire subculture”

The Amen Break is a drum beat from 1969 from a song called “Amen Brother” by The Winstons. It was originally from a b-side. This short drum break is featured in literally thousands of instances. Originally used in hardcore hip hop music by groups such as NWA in “straight out of Compton” The original band has gotten jack shit in royalties for this beat. It can now be found in advertisements for cars and medicine. So strange that this small beat is in so many songs.

This video is long, but just open a new tab and listen to it like your Public Radio you boheims. I feel bad for the Winstons, they got hosed.

There are no Pan-Asian supermarkets in Hell, so you can’t buy Golden Boy peanuts.

My brother made a website (imgur.com) in his free time and it’s an Internet sensation, for real. I was always supposed to be the cooler sibling, but at this point I will never catch up. This article is from Comedy Central about his site.

This is the craziest shit evar. I am in the intro web class with him and I have no idea what the hell is going on.

So last year Kelly made me watch this dumb movie called The Notebook, with this dumb “most attractive” looking guy named Ryan Goseling in it. It’s too bad he just came out with an amazing album under the name Dead Man’s Bones, that is all occult themed and backed by a children’s choir. Fuck you Ryan Goseling.

Dead Man’s Bones- My Body’s a Zombie for you!
